My grandfather was a cape horner first going to sea in 1887. his name was James Hanson and in1893 sailed on a ship with explorer Fridtiof Nansen he was from Swansea later becoming a sea pilot there. he sailed with a Capt Wiggens one of his ships was the Reigate of Swansea.has anyone come across him as I would like more infomation |

Excellent site - I very quickly found details of two of my relatives born in Somerset who I now know worked on ships from both sides of the Bristol Channel. Many thanks.
