Excellent site - I very quickly found details of two of my relatives born in Somerset who I now know worked on ships from both sides of the Bristol Channel. Many thanks.

Well Done Bryan. This site has been great and as a result I have been able to find out more about my great great grand father, Captain John Edwards (see Other Mariners site on home page) who was a Cape Horner and a former Manager of the Britannia Steam Towing Company. Any one connected with Captain John Edwards please email me.

really interesting! George Bidder(born 1825), and Pilot of the "Vigilant" was my Great, great Grandfather. I am trying to establish a link with Robert Bidder (Cert: 88117)who was discharged from the Gauntlet on 4/12/1869, at Valparaiso.I would welcome any help.
